one week later...

i have received the loveliest post replies and emails wishing me well after my self-pitying post last weekend. it made me realize that, perhaps, i had ought to post a little update.

i am doing so well, thank you very much for asking!

my health, both physical and mental, has improved immensely. i am feeling better and (shock!) after my amazing mother's day, my kids remained on excellent behavior (and when they weren't, i handled it all so well, just like i wish i always would!), and it somehow turned into the week of pampering. myself and my home.

the kids and i have really enjoyed each other this week and it hasn't felt that smooth in awhile. we've done cooking and art projects again, after a short hiatus, and lala even sewed a bit with me. finn's been interacting so much more and is fun to play with. he loves stacking and you can see here, he has even stacked his cheese! (left side of his tray.)

coincidentally to mother's day, mike cleaned up the area next to his side of the bed. (he made that bedside table and the matching one on the other side. he made the bed, too.) let's just say we never rearrange the furniture in our room, because we need his side of the bed hidden, just the way it is. well, it is now clean. and it had me so inspired, i have been on a spring cleaning kick, tidying, freshening decor a bit, washing window coverings, floors, etc. (now, i still need the dusting done, windows -inside and out - washed, the ironing pile take care of, and (oh god) my kitchen cabinets scrubbed clean, but this is progress! any volunteers, by the way?)

and self-pampering? LH, wise woman that she is, emailed me and told me she had hired her babysitter to watch the little ones while the big girls were at school, and so we had a mamma morning out having pedicures and lunch. (it was heaven, but too short, of course!)

this week also brought a family lunch date (hard to come by with mike's work schedule and office location - an hour from home in no traffic). their cafeteria is amazing (i had hand rolled sushi, bella had brick oven pizza, mike had indian food) and the garden setting was lovely. the kids spent the time fascinated by the duck and turtle that live in the pond. (that is bubbly water in that can, by the way. we do not give our kids soda!)

and....my friday off. my morning for finn to be with LH, so i ran some errands all by myself. fun ones, too. i even went to the fabric store! (and poor LH...apparently, my guy opted to remove a poopy diaper rather than nap. ick.)

so yes, i am better. (can you feel my smile?)

happy weekend to you all!
(and happy birthday shout outs to young asher and young kieran!)
